2010 Z Generation Youth Calendar & Anticipated Costs for the 2010 Z-Generation local Church Ministry January 18, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) Teens for the Dream We will participate in the annual Teens for the Dream activity on the Martin Luther King Holiday. Will participate in the march sponsored by the King Foundation, conduct a forum for teens about the King Dream, then participate in the night program with the adults. $0.00 January 23, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) Gospel Skate Day We will participate in a Gospel Skate at Skate Town. It will be a fun day of fellowship with others in the Z-Gen ministry. $90.00 ($4.50 X20) February 1-6, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) How to Witness We will participate in a workshop that will teach us how to witness to the Z-Generation. We will attend the opening night of the Black Heritage Drama "Honey Babe's Treasure" at the Monroe Civic Center $0.00 February 14-20, 2010 (Local Church Activity) Nursing Home/Elderly Visitation This week we will visit the elderly of our church and show them our appreciation and love. This may take more than one day, but we’ll get it done this week. $0.00 (Refreshments) February 27, 2010 (Local Church Activity) Black History Parade We will participate in the annual black history parade by entering a float, car or unit in the parade. All of our youth will participate in this fun day of fellowship. $150.00 (Fee and Throwaways) February 28, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) Black History Bowl We will participate in a Black History bowl that in which representatives from our church will compete as they demonstrate their knowledge of local and national Black History. There will be prizes, trophies & awards. $50.00 March 6, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) How to Witness We will participate in a workshop that will teach us how to witness to the Z-Generation. There will be presenters from several churches at this workshop. $25.00 March 13, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) The Way Christians Dress Today we will learn about the proper dress for Christian Youth. We will participate in a fashion show that will demonstrate acceptable dress for school, church, proms, and casual wear. $25.00 Cost covers refereshments March 28-April 3, 2010 (Local Church Activity) Neighborhood Outreach Today, we will canvass a selected neighborhood, either adjacent to our church facility or another of special interest. As we move from house to house we will pass out literature inviting families to join our Christian fellowship and worship. $0.00 April 3, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) Z-Generation Easter Egg Hunt Today, we will participate in a giant Easter Egg, especially for younger members of the Z-Generation. We will gather at Lincoln Elementary School at 11 a.m. to participate in the big egg hunt for youth ages 0-12. $40.00 (Eggs, supplies, prizes) April 4-10, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) Young Christians and the Arts Today we will participate in an arts workshop that will show our Z-Gens how to use their gifts for Christ in several art forms: Liturgical Dance, instrumental music, vocal, mime, drama, rap or spoken word, graphic arts. There will be experienced instructors on hand to help our youth learn more about using their gifts. $10.00 (Refreshments) April 11-17, 2010 (Local Church Activity) Ministry to Incarcerated Youth This week we will minister to young people who are incarcerated in local lock-ups. We will visit, offer prayers and other activities, especially targeting youth from our church families or others of special concern to us. $0.00 April 24, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) Basketball Tournament Today our youth will participate in the day–long Bible Basketball tournament with other Z-Gens. It will be a test of our bible knowledge skills as well as our basketball skills. There will be trophies and awards for outstanding teams. We expect this to be an all day event. $25.00 (Referees, rentals, etc.) April 25-May 1, 2010 (Local Church Activity) Youth Meeting Our youth will meet this week. The graduation program will also salute those who are graduating from Head Start, Kindergarten, and Elementary School. Will present awards and scholarships to our high school graduates along with others in the Z-Generation Ministry. $75.00 (Awards, Rentals, etc) May 31-June 4 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) Vacation Bible School We will participate in a giant Z-Generation Vacation Bible School hosted a local school. We expect over 350 youth to participate. Our teachers and staff will join with those of Z-Gen churches to host four days of VBS that will be different from anything we’ve done before. We will also prepare to bring refreshments on our assigned day. $300.00 (Supplies, crafts, curriculum materials) June 8-28, 2010 (Local Church Activity) Annual Session Rehearsals This month we will clear our local calendars so our youth can attend rehearsals for the upcoming annual session of our district association. $0.00 June 29-July 5, 2010 (Local Church Activity) Fourth of July Break There will be no meetings or rehearsals this week. $0.00 July 11, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) Bikes for Christ We will participate in the annual Bikes for Christ fellowship along with churches of the Louisiana Baptist Youth Encampment. Our youth will ride in the bike-a-thon and we will supply water and treats when they stop at our facility. $0.00 July 11-August 1, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) Annual Session Rehearsals We will participate in the Annual session of our district Association. We will attend classes, hear sermons and enjoy fellowship. We will participate in the closing youth program on August 2. $0.00 August 1-7, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) Birds and the Bees This week we will discuss teen dating, personal hygiene and sexual matters with older youth. There will be general information and breakout sessions for gender based information. Among our presenters will be doctors, nurses, pastors and teachers who professionals in these areas to advise our youth in these areas. Z-Gens from all churches will be doing the same. We will focus on the area surrounding our church facility or other specified areas. $10.00 (Snacks) October 2, 2010 (Fellowship with Other Churches) Dance like David Danced We will participate in a Liturgical dance program in which each church will present a liturgical dance. There will be games, prizes and church based costumes. We will reflect on the year, present awards and certificates and look forward to the 2011 program year.
